| FREEWIFI Bio:                When you think of Minneapolis, typically rappers don’t come to mind—let alone a trio of rhymers who are the first of many in a new movement known as FREEWIFI. Tha Rift, J. Plaza and Daddy Dinero are three of the Twin Cities finest rising MC’s—combined they are force unlike anything the city has even seen. FREEWIFI came together back in 2016, when Minneapolis based produced, Angelo Bombay created a track for Tha Rift—a highly energized rhymer, with penchant for speedy bars. But the track was missing balance and the right touch to take it to the next level, so Bombay hit social media to secure the win. He tapped local artists J. Plaza and Daddy Dinero and the rest was history. “FREEWIFI reps the unity of us coming together, we are three different MC’s from different walks of life, but we connected through social media and phones before we connected in person,” Tha Rift said. “We also reach and impact our society by living a free lifestyle and encouraging others to live free spirited.  Who doesn't like free wifi?”  The collective’s first joint effort “Ego” became a local success for it’s catchy hook, courtesy of Tha Rift, Plaza’s melodic baritone flow and Daddy Dinero’s confident delivery of self praising, arrogant bars. Influenced by the likes of Kendrick Lamar, ASAP Mob, Speaker Knockers; and their own individual styles, FREEWIFI is a unique trio of eclectic talent, driven by intertwining life experiences.  J. Plaza, an army brat, began writing pint-sized rhymes as kids and Rift, a decorated U.S. Navy veteran, was crafting beats and ready to risk it all for his love of music. Meanwhile Dinero—the youngest of the crew—left college and a wrestling scholarship to pursue hip-hop after many failed attempts to find artists to rap over beats he produced. Rift, Plaza and Dinero can stand alone but are even better as a unit. They recently signed to Rostrum Records and are picking up were “Ego” left off to create a dynamic debut album, which is guaranteed to unite Minneapolis and hip-hop heads worldwide. | ||||||
